Characteristic value of Bond Strength for Circular Concrete Filled Steel Tubes Based on Database of Experimental Data

ABSTRACT:When external forces are applied to an axially loaded composite member and/or when there is a moment in composit member, longitudinal shear stress is generated at the interface between steel and concrete in and/or outside region of load introduction. The current code requires that the shear connectors should be provided, based on the distribution of the design value of longitudinal shear, where this exceeds the design shear strength. In this study, the characteristic value of longitudinal shear strength for the circular concrete filled steel tube was evaluated by statistical analysis of a database of experimental data.
